The garden holds seven pods that contain a single seed embedded in a sponge; placing the matching transparent plastic dome onto each pod allows the seed to achieve necessary temperature for germination. An organic nutrient-rich water solution stored in the garden's reservoir is pumped through a network of channels in the garden's grow surface and delivered directly to each of the seed pods by a drip irrigation system, ensuring proper moisture; roots glean water, oxygen, and nutrients while suspended in the air. Two 26-watt full-spectrum fluorescent bulbs provide optimal amounts of blue and red wavelength light and are housed in a 5-way adjustable highly-reflective lamp cover. A micro-processor automatically adjusts nutrient and light delivery to pods as they grow, and alerts you when to add water and more nutrients. Includes nutrient tabs and seven seed pods of herbs, including dill, chives, cilantro, oregano, spearmint, and two varieties of basil. The garden can be used again with other seed pod sets.
